I want to live in a creative community of healers, artists and musicians with a shared vegetable garden, chickens and mudbrick buildings.

ABOUT ME

I am very creative, I teach art and feel comfortable around creative types, musicians, artists, healers and builders. I am independent but like community and think it's important to try and contribute and help others. I'm into sustainable building, good home cooked food, beautiful fabrics, sewing, and music (but I can't play an instrument), ... the juiciest bits of life. I like the way art reveals stuff about people's lives, because I like people.

PHILOSOPHY

Be curious and open to the world because when you stop having a sense of wonder, you grow old. People are amazing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've only just started being active on couchsurfing so this is new, but in the past I've run a backpackers and I've met so many travellers. I love to show travellers our beautiful beaches, the rainforests, and markets and just share local knowledge, language, friendship and fun.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I First joined couchsurfing in 2009, because some friends were involved, But personally, I am new to the couchsurfing experience because i've only just become active here. I know lots of people who've had excellent experiences. I'm about to be one of them!

Interests

I love teaching because I love working with kids, but I wouldn't like teaching maths. It's being creative and pulling that out of other people that I get a buzz from. I love adventures and trying new things, even if that's just a different food when I go grocery shopping. I drive different routes to places, and catch buses to unkown destinations so that I am constantly surprised. I like to break habits. I love Nature but especially the Ocean and would love to see the Atlantic ocean on a grey stormy day.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't like violence, but apart from this I am open to new books, music and movies. If someone says something is good, I'll try it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've scuba dived off a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, caught a kangaroo in my toilet, hitchhiked to Sydney, eaten coconut crab and flying fox, swum at night in an ocean sparkling with phosphorous and slept naked on a trampoline under a starry night with a sprinkler beneath to keep me cool.

I like meeting people like the ones I just described. I think travellers are open people, so if you're travelling, I'll probably like you.
