About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Life passes most people by while they are making grand plans for the future. I'm striving to live in the moment and enjoy every aspect of my life to the best of my ability.

ABOUT ME

I joined this site to meet interesting people. I also enjoy sharing experiences with others. I like finding out what makes people different and unique on an individual, cultural, religious level etc... I like music, audiobooks, chips & salsa, fish tacos and fitness. I like hiking, the outdoors and the seasons. I like boarding in the snow, still working on getting better (story of my life). I am a passionate person and I ask a lot of questions. I put myself in awkward situations. Laughing is my favorite past-time, smiling is another. I live my life in a way that will allow for good stories. I try to love people. I strive for personal improvement everyday.

PHILOSOPHY

"Live life fully while you're here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You're going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process. Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don't try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of a human being"

Don't worry about the future, or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Host, surf, spread the love.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Summer. 2010. I had just graduated college and was working in Corporate America. Hated it. Went to lunch one day and decided I had had enough. Made the decision not to return to work. Instead, I quit my job, packed up my car and hopped on CS to find a place to stay, somewhere, anywhere. Ended up driving up to Philly, arriving at 1am and having an amazing conversation with a fellow CS'r named Chuck (see reference below) until about 4am. We had a great time and traveled to NYC together. I told him about my time in San Diego a couple years prior and how he needed to check it out there sometime. He has now been living in San Diego for a year. It is amazing the impact CS can have on peoples' lives and my own. Wouldn't trade these experiences for the world. Looking forward to more.
