About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"When in Rome, do as the Romans do". I want to experience the european culture, specific to each country.

ABOUT ME

Well where to start. I suppose i'll start with my weaknesses, so i can get them out of the way and by the time you've finished reading this hopefully you will have forgotten all about them. Sometimes i sleep talk, i've been known to have the odd conversation with someone who walks into the room. My other flaw is i tend to switch off when i get bored. I have a short attention span.

Now for the boring bit, so over the last year i have finished my degree, taken a year out and worked to save some money to go travelling around europe. When i get back i will be starting my masters degree. I'll stop there.

But now for the good stuff. I'd describe myself as confident with a good sense of humour (if you like typically british which = sarcastic). I'm adventurous and a fast learner. I'd say i'm relatively intelligent, but who is to say what intelligence is? Maybe i mean i have good common sense. After travelling for awhile i have discovered my super power. I have a freakishly good sense of direction. I know what you're thinking, that is so cool, much better than being able to fly. But you'd be suprised how many people have marvelled at it in action. I don't think it gets much better than that so i'll stop right now.

Thanks for reading

PHILOSOPHY

If you don't try it, how do you know you don't like it?

If you don't enjoy yourself now, when will you?

Work hard, play hard, sleep later.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well i heard about CS on my travels and checked it out on the internet. I think my first goal would be to improve the british (or should i say english) reputation abroad. My second goal once i'm done travelling is to show people the country side of life in Britain because thats the more traditional side of life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well on my first night in europe i arrived in Zadar, Croatia with nowhere to sleep at 22:00 at night. I wondered around the old town looking for the hostel i was going to stay at. Eventually i asked a passer by to point me in the right direction, but after walking around together for five minutes, she asked if i wanted to sleep on her couch. She lived with a flatmate, and they showed me the ins and outs of Zadar. Originally i had planned to stay one night in Zadar, but they were so friendly and nice, and we were having so much fun that i ended up staying for 3 nights. Since then i have stayed in hostels, but have never truly grasped the local way of life.

Interests

My biggest interest is football, but i won't talk about that. Its self explanitory and not relevent to travelling. If you like football great, if not i have plenty of other stuff to talk about.

I love a good night out, but i prefer when its not so busy. Then i can order drinks quickly, able to talk, and manage to bust a move on the dance floor. But i don't take myself seriously and i need space for my flapping arms. Whether its rock, electro, trance, house, hip-hop, or a bit of pop, my dance technique is exactly the same. So take me anywhere.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies. I watch anything and everything. I listen to all sorts of music, but go through phases. On my travels i've read songbird and the hobbit. But i don't read all that much back home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to the 2000 Sydney Olympics and then travelled up the east coast. I saw athletes win golds, athletes break down in tears. I saw the great barrier reef, and swam with sharks. I travelled through a jungle in cairns and white water rafted. It was a host of new experiences that have never left my thoughts.

Teach, Learn, Share

England is fast paced. Everything is go, go, go. Try not to get too frustrated when asking for help. A lot of people will just keep on walking.

I'd like to learn about how others live life and what they live for.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Croatia, France, Hungary, Slovenia

Countries I’ve Lived In
