Traveling to Victoria/Vancouver and hoping to connect to and be a part of the community.

ABOUT ME

I grew up on Manitoulin Island (in Lake Huron) and was raised as much by nature as my family. I love the water and love the feeling of a small town. I am a twenty year old student and I have ants in my pants to get out of the classroom and venture!

What do I love: meeting new open minded people who have had completely different experiences than me, putting myself into new situations and learning from them, the insane things that can happen when people do what they are passionate about, putting myself in someone else’s shoes, thinking about the worlds complex problems and where I fit in solving them/trying to think of ways they can be solved, being with nature and thinking about the science underneath it all, sitting and drinking tea, getting comfy and reading a book in one shot, spending time with my best friend who is currently in Kitwe-Zambia, breaking big things down into manageable parts, going for a walk, daisies, animals, the sunshine, visiting museums/science centres, learning about absolutely anything, and being a servant leader in society.

I value trust, respect, loyalty, honesty, connection, peace, optimism, creativity, innovation, open mindedness and self-expression. My other values include doing the right thing, empowering people to be the best they can be, treating everyone equally, and working towards social advancement. Innovation feeds my passion for social change and I get my energy from interacting with people.

I was born with power. I will not let myself abuse it, waste it, use it for my own personal advancement, or hurt people in the global society. I will use it to make an overwhelming amount of positive social change.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am going to explore Victoria and Vancouver during the month of June and see where it takes me in July/August. I'm hoping to couchsurf during this time because I want to connect with the community on a deeper level.

Also, I live in a student house with 8 other people (ages 18-24). We have two couches and plenty of floorspace and are welcoming of surfers when I return!

I couldn’t possibly be more new to CS. I’m really stoked to become a part of this community.

I love playing guitar (making noise), reading, skateboarding, learning about chemistry/(quantum) physics/astronomy/electricity, i love staring at the moon and spending time with the stars, doing yoga, going swimming with my cousins and I spend most of my time working with Engineers Without Borders Canada.
