Join Couchsurfing to see Nathan & Robin’s full profile. It’s free!
We travel and do most things as a team, hence the joint profile. We're very laid back and low key. We've been bouncing around North America for the last few years, and are now comfortably settled back in our wonderful home city - beautiful Vancouver.
Nate is looking forward to connecting with the local CS scene - Robin will probably stay home. We don't take much seriously, and enjoy laughing at each other and those we love best.
A lot of people take life and the details too seriously... we try not to. No religious affiliation, and generally try to operate on the 'do unto others' principle.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Aside from talking CS up, we've surfed and hosted a few times now, and plan to do more of both.
We've had a couple excellent hosts in Mexico and the US, hosted a handful of very good people in Vancouver and Ottawa, and have met oodles of great surfers in the Philippines, Mexico and Canada. We've also gotten pretty good at recruiting our friends to the site... if you know us, you've probably at least heard of CS.
Love outdoors; camping, swimming, taking dog to the park, etc. Also love indoors; music, movies, generally mellow activities. If you have a dog, we're your new best friends. Currently, we're super excited about homesteading and learning about new ways to live as sustainably as we can.
Music, Movies, and Books
(Nathan) Huge fan of music, but my talent seems restricted to just listening. I love rock and roll in nearly all forms. Intelligent hip-hop gets me really excited. Lately I've been having a great time exploring Canada's indie scene. I will like you very much if you introduce me to new bands.
(Robin) Modest Mouse and Radiohead are probably my favourite bands. Nathan has gotten me into Brother Ali... classic zeppelin or stones is always a safe bet.
We watch A LOT of movies. Any movie driven by characters rather than explosions is a winner.
"The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles" "Ishmael" "Blow" "The Sacred Balance" or anything by Kurt Vonnegut. Everyone should read "The End of Poverty"
