Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I take it serious and appreciate this whole community! It connects the world and helps to get together in my own country or in foreign countries. It supports the feeling of togetherness in an international way!
I had a few very positive experiences with couchsurfing while I was on my road trip through the United States in 2009, staying in Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Herndon, Washington D.C..
My friends and me also had a very amazing meeting with a CS group in Madrid during New Years Eve' 2011/2012 - oh yes, the celebration went until 10 in the morning! :D
All my great exeriences are dedicated to the people I met here on CS! Now I'm waiting for hosting somebody over here in my own country and would be happy if there are some couchsurfing members interested. Believe me, I do know to show people stuff! ;)
Basketball, Soccer, Mountain-Biking (trails and downhill at Beginner level), meeting people from other countries, Music production, mediteranean cooking, traveling through other countries (I would like to see the whole world!), Partying, Bodybuilding and Fitness training.
Music, Movies, and Books
Well, I'm a movie freak with a special interest on Gangster movies like "The Godfather 1,2,3", "Road to Perdition", "Goodfellas", "Casino", "Scarface" and so on. I also love other movies with a special character like "The Shawshank Redemption", "Last Samurai" or "Forrest Gump". Since I have a whole collection of great movies you also might find something for a relaxing evening with watching movies!
Music is what we are living for! :D Well, yes love pretty much all kind of music if it doesn't destroy my brain, though! Special favourites are Electro, House, ChillOut, Ambient & Lounge, Dancehall, Hip Hop (New & Old Scool), Reggae, Rap, Reggaeton, Salsa & Latino Disco, Merenque, Bachata, but also good old classics swinging right out of a bar in Chicago. Yes I can also live with Jazz, Blues and other smooth stuff! It's good for a after work session or a after party! :D
When I find time I also concentrate on creating electronic music and ChillOut with special software.
I wish I would have more time for reading books! But I have red a few nice books in the past. Some of them carry political topics, others are written of war, of mafia syndicates or international adventures. I sometimes like books of famous people like those of "Steve Jobs", "Nelson Mandela", "Martin Luther King" and others.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Too much to write it in here! That is something I can tell you about in conversations, though! :D
Let me just create a preview list:
9-month-duty in the german federal armed forces (Bundeswehr): Experiences I will never forget! I could fill evenings with those stories! :D
Road Trip (2009), Travelling through 18 states in the US including visiting friends, sightseeing and unbelieveable experiences!
Language studies and school exchange: Brighton, England in 2004, Sliema, Malta in 2005 and Crystal Lake, IL, USA in 2006.
The Canarian Islands 2013: Holidays with amazing experiences, ...............
let me stop here, it is definitely too much to write! :D
Teach, Learn, Share
I can describe that in a few words: I love meeting people that are open minded and show respect to other people without judging them before they got to know them! I think a good combo is: open minded + respectful + helpful + communicative! Depending teaching or learning from the community can be:
Teaching: About the german culture, food, language, etc.
Learning: Other languages, cultures and traditions.
Is that what they were asking here about???
