About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet the widest variety of people and extend the same generosity that I was blessed with while I travelled.

ABOUT ME

I was born in Canada and was raised speaking French in school. When I moved to the States I realized how blessed I was to have learned another language and met so many people from diverse backgrounds. The last couple years I've developed a passion for other cultures, religions, and languages. I love learning about the different ways people think and about the beauty of what they do...in fact, I like to define myself through the legacy of others and the unique ways they make this world what it is.

PHILOSOPHY

Two things:
1. Everyone has different preferences, beliefs, morals, and notions of what life should be. The sooner we come to not only tolerate but RESPECT and embrace these differences, the more peaceful we will become as a people. Differences brings such excitement!
2. Life is to be ENJOYED. It's not something to "get through." Saying we'll be happy tomorrow wastes an entire day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would LOVE to host people in my little apartment. I just spent an entire month in Asia, traveling in the Philippines and Taiwan. Our hosts' generosity completely blew me away. I wish to continue sharing that loving spirit that we felt when we were there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We stayed with two different hosts in Manila, and I loved the couple who stayed up long hours to take us around and teach us about their country. In Taiwan we had the most generous family put us up in Taipei and cleaned our clothes and fed us in their home. In Hualien we met some aborigines who took us into their culture and brought us to a Harvest Festival. I love couchsurfing because it brings you straight into the group and teaches you more about the country!

Interests

Music, good movies (usually foreign!), running, biking, rock climbing, volleyball, hiking, back packing, basically anything that brings me outdoors and allows me to be active, traveling, trying new foods, sewing, thrift shopping, meeting and talking with new people...the list goes on!
