About Me

Philosophy: Pursuing Love and Freedom,

While the sole purpose of living may be happiness, I believe happiness is not a state but a journey. This journey unfolds through the balance of freedom and love, creating moments of gratitude. Therefore, what we ought to do in life's journey is to cultivate these grateful moments, building spaces and times of appreciation. It is my hope that the connections we make here contribute to building spaces and times that will be remembered as moments of grateful happiness for you and me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was introduced to Couchsurfing by a Japanese friend I met during my travels, a connection that has significantly enriched my journey.
Traveling through Europe, Egypt, India, and Thailand(etc), I've had the privilege of meeting people through Couchsurfing. And hosting travelers in Korea has allowed me to engage with diverse cultures and individuals, offering a valuable opportunity to learn and share. These experiences have not only broadened my horizons but also deepened my appreciation for the rich variety of cultures and connections that the world has to offer.

Interests

I'm really curious about how technology can change our future and the positive impact it can have on peace and the environment. I love imagining all the ways new tech can make our lives better, especially when it comes to protecting our planet and promoting peace among people. Additionally, I believe that traveling itself plays a joyful and crucial role in fostering mutual understanding and maintaining peace. I'm eager to learn more about how all these elements can come together to create a brighter future for all of us.

Music, Movies, and Books

My tastes are somewhat eclectic. From Marvel movies to classics that delve deep into emotions and philosophy like "Melody" (1971) and "Dead Poet Society," I enjoy films across a spectrum of genres. Moreover, my love for poetry deepens through works like "If I knew then what I know," edited by a Korean poet, and "Love And Free" by a Japanese poet. These books reflect my passion for exploring the subtle nuances of language and emotion.

Recently, my interests have shifted slightly. Books like "Resilience" and "The 10X Rule" have become my new favorites. Focused on personal development and productivity enhancement, these books offer strategies for overcoming challenges and maximizing potential, resonating with my workaholic nature. I believe these themes reflect my ongoing passion for learning and growing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Before becoming a programmer, I operated my own business for 8 and half years. It was a small business with a team of 10 people, focusing on design, printing, and publishing. Given that it was a declining industry, we faced numerous challenges, but I managed to keep the business afloat and eventually sold it to a reputable company. Now, I'm enjoying my career as a programmer at a travel content company.

Teach, Learn, Share

If - the poem. by Rudyard Kipling.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!
