bring couchsurfing to UCLA! ... and figure out who keeps eating all the cream cheese
I will add more later, but for now
I am an undergraduate student at UCLA studying Neuroscience with a good sense of humor, a great love of sarcasm (if allowed), a love of the outdoors and exercise etc (see interests). I can't spell very well in either of the languages I know, i love learning worldly things and am practically begging one of our scandinavian professors to let me into Swedish 1, I am never so happy as when im doing something significant and proactive-or just covered in horse dust, My mom is of french and duch descent, and my dad is from Iran, I want to continue my education for at least till professional school...(med school let me in!)If i was a super hero and had to choose a power i would have a hard time between invisibility at will, teleportation, raising armies out of the dust like in all those cool movies so i could take over the world, and always knowing the answers to stuff.
To be the best friend i can be to as many people as possible
pay it forward
be good to strangers
create my own little heaven on earth
plant as many green things as i can!
be mean to my sister's cat....i'm just kidding, kind of
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Couchsurfing.com seems to be exactly my type of thing. I love meeting new interesting people, and I love to be of help and show people around. I am definitely up for meeting with people and going out for a meal or maybe showing you around the cool college-student parts of the city, or give you a tour of UCLA. GO BRUINS!
I have never couchsurfed, but I'm hoping to change this as i am planning to get to Europe in the near future. I would definitely like to check out some grad schools and just mingle in general.
I love reading, playing would-you-rather, running, being crafty and creative, baking, irritating my sisters and besties, riding horses, chocolate ice cream, the smell of leather and barn dust, stained glass, driving long distances, taking naps outside in good weather, going bike-riding with friends, the colors purple/burgundy and gold, onions, hanging out with friends, gatherings, concerts, wide open spaces, winning stuff, basically any sports (besides baseball, softball), nature and camping, being nice to strangers, and much more!
things I really don't like: small irritating dogs, dark chocolate, things left plugged in when they aren't being used, sharks and seaweed, rude/mean people, mattresses that are too soft, people who purposely walk slow in crosswalks, flat tires, and waking up in the afternoon

Music, Movies, and Books
this is too open-ended...
pan's labyrinth, cheri, my fair lady, harry potters, lotrs, classic disney, cinema paradiso, non grossly-gorey horrors, non sappy dramas, musicals without the words 'highschool or rent', LOVE unique foreign movies, national velvet, true blood, the tudors, up, toy story, pride and prejudice '95, gigi, elizabeth, kingdom of heaven, village, gladiator, stardust, murderous intent, hamlet with kenneth branaugh (ahh i love..), the incredibles, forgetting sarah marshall, the underworlds, nightwatch (russia), so far so close, anything fantastically depressing with s painfully realistic endings and some magic realism thrown in...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have seen so many amazing things, but heres some funny stuff thats happened to me:
once when i was only about seven i was in the middle of a riding lesson and another girl's horse fell asleep while finishing a jumping exercise. It just stopped all the sudden and she went flying a good 15 feet, but at least she made it over the jump. the next session the instructor told me that i was going to ride it this time, and freaked out and started crying-i remember thinking i was going to die! i didn't want to die! but i don't remember if i ended up riding it...
I met the only other person (i assume on earth) with my name! I was walking around in a busy square with my cousin in Iran and i heard a woman calling my name. not at all used to it belonging to anyone else i idiotically wandered through the crowd to a completely confused woman staring at me holding her young daughter. I just "oh" 'd and walked away...at least the kid was cute! and now i know my name isn't made up (my sisters are mean, but they say i'm adopted too)
A million years ago when i had just learned to write my name in kindergarten, I decided to play outside in the front yard after coming home from class. i vividly remember picking up a rock and carving my name into my dad's brand new car which my parents had bought all of 3 days ago, then running off to show him. he just smiled at me and said 'good job!'. a few hours late my mom found out, and not remembering what happened after is probably good.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to interact with people from other countries, lifestyles, and cultures than the ones i grew up in, and grew up with--to exchange experiences with them and swap views on life, to see how the youth of the world lives. I feel like the country I live in is a bubble, are they all like that?
