About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"Life's a journey, not a destination!"

ABOUT ME

I'm an Estonian girl who has also lived in Luxembourg and is now studying in the UK. I've a few close friends and a family whom I love very much; I read a lot, ranging from philosophy to sci-fi/fantasy (to include biographies, girly-fiction and an occasional crimi-bestseller in between), and I can knit while reading =)

I like to think of myself as intellectually curious and academically capable, but that doesn't make me a book-nerd (if anything, I'm in danger of becoming an internet nerd). I can be outgoing as well, which is really useful when I'm traveling!

I'm interested in people and generally like them - and I can like people with different views on life, politics etc than I have.

Feel free to contact me!

PHILOSOPHY

I like liking stuff and I like seeing into things, people, situations, opinions, policies, decisions, ... I'm interested in understanding through feeling and feeling through understanding.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a beginner to couch-surfing, but will be available to put people up in Durham, UK after I've finished the trip to Marseille that's to happen soon!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far! Right now desperately searching for couches for myself and my Portuguese friend Eduardo in Marseille for the beginning of the next week... our trip-planning is not always so sloppy, honest!

Interests

Reading, history, philosophy, painting, internet, music (I've a pretty wide-ranging taste), liking things, learning, dancing, travelling, knitting, cooking, ...

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently reading Umberto Eco "The Island of the Day Before". I like Eco; also recent enjoyable reads have been "Cloud Atlas" by David Mitchell, "The End of Mr. Y" by Scarlett Thomas, for chick lit Marian Keyes always lifts my mood... "The Silence of the Lambs", anything by Iain Banks (and Iain M. Banks); anything by R. Zelazny; George R. R. Martin's epic saga "Song of Ice and Fire" was much enjoyable; the list could continue a *long way*.

Music: The Decemberists, Massive Attack, Alanis Morissette, Carlos Santana, Bob Marley, Patti Smith, Motley Crue, Guano Apes, Marilyn Manson, Summoning, Falkenbach, Warsawpack, Offspring, Rasputina, Aerosmith, Nirvana, Hole, Metallica, Janis Joplin, Guns'n'Roses, My Dying Bride, ...

But I'm not very good at watching movies.
British gangster movies are good, though, and stuff like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was born in the Soviet Union, but my country is now independent.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach:
Knitting
Understanding books
Appreciating beauty

I'd like help with:
