To enjoy this 1 chance at life that we've been given. determined not to lie on my deathbed wishing I'd had a chance to enjoy life.
I'm a relaxed, chilled out kind of a guy. Serious at work, and have achieved a lot over the years. When not working I'm just a big kid. With a passion for travel.
Enjoy life as much as possible, you only get one shot at it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have a bed available to anyone at all, I hope to travel the world and meet great people, and welcome many with a warm heart.
I've stayed at many strangers' homes in many countries whilst backpacking, and wouldn't enjoy it more any other way. It's the best way to break down barriers between different races. Since joining couchsurfing, I've stayed with hosts in Cairo, Istanbul, Sarajevo, Sandakan, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Kota Kinabalu & Singapore so far. So far couchsurfing has been a wonderful experience for me. I've been lucky to stay with some lovely hosts, whose kindness and generosity are very much appreciated. Almost all of my surfers have been great and a joy to accommodate and entertain. One surfer from Malaysia left me a neutral reference quite unfairly in my opinion. First he asked me to pick him up at the airport which I did, only to discover that he'd asked a friend from Tawau to pick him up by car too, and chose to ride with his friend instead of me. That night we served a meal for him & he spoke constantly and only to my manager Anthony in Mandarin, until I had had enough and scolded them both. Bloody rude, especially as his English was faultless. Please read this before you judge me by my neutral reference, the other references are all positive. The other bad surfer was from UK, who showed a distinct lack of interest in everything he was being introduced to, was very rude, arrogant, bad mannered and he incurred my anger for insulting my manager and the boys who work for me for absolutely no reason. A real pig of a man. Everyone else has been fabulous.
Travelling the world, trying local foods, learning local languages, meeting people from all over the world. And cars!
Music, Movies, and Books
Love all kinds of music except rap, and especially dislike gangsta rap. Enkoy a huge variety of movies, my all time favourite being Heat, intelligently written, and beautifully acted. Other favourites include Black Rain, Lost in Translation, The Pledge, and many more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One? Are you kidding? Favourite cities: San Francisco, Hong Kong, Sydney. But I've been to the pyramids in Egypt, Niagara falls, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Ayers Rock, I worked with orphans in Sri Lanka during the civil war there, novice monks in Thailand, and many more incredible experiences.
Teach, Learn, Share
We are all teachers and students for our entire life. I may not have a special skill, but I'm a good listener and I always have a great story to tell.
