About Me

My main occupations in life are probably laughing and travelling. I really got infected with the travel bug in 2009 when I took off for a gap year in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. The travel bug for me isn’t only the urge of travelling, I also learnt that everything material I need in life can fit in a backpack. Put me in a beautiful landscape with great people and I am the richest person in the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In my opinion, you can join as many great organisations and go protesting so many times, if you want to make the world a better place you should start in your own environment. Give and take by hosting great people or being hosted and sharing nice moments seems to me a win-win-win-win-situation!

I surfed quiet a few times and hosted quiet a few great people!
Among my highlights were staying in an old chapel with a proper altar in Australia, in an artists squat in an occupied factory in central London and so on...
Another highlight was when my mom came over to visit me when I lived in Quebec. She was really sceptical about going to stay at a "stranger's place" and then we had this great couchsurfing experience together. I will never forget how she wouldn't stop saying afterwards how amazed she was by these people's warm welcome and generosity!

I play Field Hockey since my early childhood and do any kind of outdoor sports like hiking, windsurfing, sailing, skiing, snorkelling and so on. I am a great camping fan and enjoy being outside very much. Besides of that I love relaxing with friends, having eternal conversations about pretty much everything over a glass or two of wine or beer. Apart from that I love eating and trying out any new kind of (vegetarian) food, which makes up an essential part of travelling for me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Many many many books. This years favourite so far was "Americanah" by Chimananda Ngozi Adichie and "Eine gebrochene Frau" by Simone de Beauvoire.

There is a lot of music... Especially any live music with lots of instrument, live Ska, La rue Kétanou, Alt-J, Ratatat, ...

There are heaps of good movies such as Grizzly Man, La Haine, Moonrise Kingom, Black Cat White Cat, Adam's Apples...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always discovering new things. My last obsession was dumpster diving. My flatmates and me in Montreal were pretty into it, we had massive dinners with friends at our place... Unfortunately, in Germany it seems like it's going to be a different story...
