CURRENT MISSION

Our time in the UK is occupied with working to pay off our piece of paradise back in NZ and grabbing whatever spare time we can to discover the hidden people and parts of UK we might not see on the regular tourist trail.

ABOUT ME

We are J9 and Sam, a couple from the East Coast of NZ, just north of the capital city of Wellington. We've been travelling in the UK for over a year now, ending up here after attending a sculpture symposium in China and creating 'Kaituna' Sam's first bronze sculpture (yipee!). We are crazy into recycling and eco-stuff, constructing pizza ovens amongst other things with earth. We are passionate part-owners of 55 hectares of land in NZ, just down the road from the beach and covered in native bush and pine. We are working towards our dream of living a sustainable life there full on creativity, learning, and the outdoor life. Our land is just down the road from the beach Castlepoint, with some great surfing and magnificent rock sculpture.

Sam works as a potter/artist with a current focus on sculpture (www.samludden.com) and J9 is starting up a management consultancy specialising in organisational health and balance (www.holistica.co.nz)

We are just starting out with CS but are keen to give it a go while in the UK. Also open to hosting when back in NZ, alongside hosting woofers on our land.

Interests

Hmmm, where to start. Art, politics, local politics, ecol-building, eco-activism (J9 hosts a greenie website www.wainotgogreen.org), the outdoors - Sam loves to kayak and surf kayak, we both hike and sea kayak and love working outside in the garden or on whatever projects we might be working on at the time. Gigs when we can get to them. Festivals.
