Just returned from an 18 month overland trip from Vietnam to Europe, currently saving for our next trip through the Middle East! I live with my girlfriend Shelley Urquhart, we'll be creating a joint CS profile but until it gets enough references we'll accept guests from both of our individual profiles. Though we generally only host people that send us personal requests, occasionally we'll let a copy/paste request slide, we get it, it's tedious. What we won't accept is if you copy/paste both of our profiles, at that point it's blatantly obvious you don't even care enough to read the first paragraph of potential hosts. Please address your request to Cam & Shelley so we can see if you've at least read this far.
I love more than anything to have a wild night, whether it be sneaking into a 5 star hotel's pool, skinny dipping in some random persons hottub, racing in shopping trolleys down a hill, to me this is great fun. I read a guys profile who'd stolen the keys to the Eiffel tower, this guy is my hero. I love meeting people with the same mind-set who are open to anything.
Happy to offer free tech support on any Apple gear you're travelling with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We're pretty keen travellers, our friends are not, it's a great way for us to stay connected with the travelling community.
A lot of people are here a for a free place to crash, while some hosts get up in arms about this, we couldn't care less - we did the same. So request away, we accept most people!
I have a passion for film! I'd say a good 50% of my life has been spent with popcorn in my hands watching a good movie.
Music (I love really old record player music from the 40s-50s)
Snowboarding, I'm not good but I just feel so damn cool doing it.
I'd love to learn piano and/or guitar, but I need a teacher
I love photography, I like to tell people my pictures are capturing an emotion or explain the thought process behind it when really the photo just sucked.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spending a month trekking in the Nepali Himalayas along the 3 passes trek, looking onto Everest and the surrounding mountains from Kala Pathar.
Getting caught on a volcano at night with only a rapidly draining iPhone as a flashlight and no food/water as a huge typhoon rolled in ahead of us.
Swimming with whale sharks in the Phillipines.
Being the first or second people to cross from Myanmar to India overland since WW2. Being held under guard by men with AK47s in a machine gun nest while we waited for a commander, hitchhiking a dump truck and having to lay flat and hide as we drove through a dozen military checkpoints.
Staying and eating at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, India. Essentially the largest free meal service in the world (if you ever get a chance, DO THIS)
Driving a motorbike through the valleys of Ladakh, managed to get the bike through an avalanche, a raging river that collapsed the road and a blockade by protesting students. They were allowing military vehicles but not us, so we formed our own blockade for the military trucks. (picture in photos)
Taking a beat up old Russian van and cruising through the stepps of Mongolia with our badass non english speaking driver Mukka.
Hanging out with Eagle Hunters in Kazakhstan.
Attending the Lantern Festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Snuck into an abandoned theme park called Nara Dreamland in southern Japan.
Completed the plank walk on Hua Shan, China.
Joined the mass naked bike ride through the Melbourne CBD
Landed in San Francisco with 800 bucks in my pocket and 2 week return flight, ended up extending it for 6 months, never took the flight home.
Hitchhiked 5,427 kilometers across Canada on my 'Free Australian' sign to chase a girl I'd met on a short student exchange.
Sleeping on the roof of a construction site in Rhodes and waking up, walking downstairs with my backpack past 50-odd builders.
Coming out of my tent in the morning in Ontario and having a herd of deer standing around my tent, after having a staring competition with the buck I went back inside and ate breakfast.
Originally being arrested by the police for hitchhiking in Italy, convincing the police to let us ride in the Riot van, then being taken to where we actually were trying to hitchhike to and getting to play with handcuffs and police gear.
Standing on the roof of a hotel in Istanbul at midnight in the warm air looking across the lights of Istanbul listening to the Call to Prayer.
