ABOUT ME

Hello!

I have been known to sail sometimes. Any sort of sailing on any sort of boat. It's good when it stops though and we all go off to the bar for a drink and a meal and relive the day.
Fishing too, there is nothing better than eating a fish you have just pulled out of the sea. Have it raw, or with a touch of lime or grilled if you prefer. Mmmm delicious.

I live on a beautiful island with a great climate. Just enough winter to cool down a bit and then long warm summers. Great for meeting people as there are every nationality living or holidaying on the island.
It's great for walking, climbing, scuba-diving, all water sports in fact. I have a license for flying microlites but I haven't used it for a while.

I don't know why I keep leaving this nice island but the call of travel is just too strong.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Having people around for a meal or a sleepover is normal in our house and and always has been.I think this interaction is what life's all about.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We were all couchsurfing before Couchsurfers existed but now it is multinational! It is going to snowball for the good of all. What a chance we have to discover the peoples of the world.

Interests

Sports. Have played many sports - Rugby, crcket, climbing, squash, ultimate frisbee and enjoy watching them. I swim, dive,fish - from both under and on top of the water, sail, golf, walk, ski. I enjoy growing vegetables (that way I know where they come from) and even mowing the lawn (Must have to do with playing cricket).

I have to admit to enjoying my computer but it often seems like a waste of time, I feel I should be outside. It a drug, but you just keep discovering and learning things.
I don't read enough books for my liking but I keep telling myself I'll have time for that when I stop doing all the other things.

I adore travel, boats, food, company, new cooking ideas (not receipes, I can't follow them it's boring), happy people, nice pubs, smoke-free zones, snow covered mountains, islands, rivers, cats, frosty windows, meals outdoors and friends to share them with.

Music, Movies, and Books

France Guillain books. She brought up her children on her boat whilst sailing the oceans of the world single-handed. Her books about living and lifestyle are a breath of fresh air.
Adventure books, country music - from any country that is! and romantic films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Found a Leafy Dragon Fish at around 10 meters depth whilst diving off Esperance in Western Australia.
Magical !!!

These really special seahorses are only found in this one little corner of the world.

Have explained cricket to a frenchman so teaching is in my blood! I'll share any talent I may have - if you can find it.
