About Me

After backpacking for almost 2.5 years, I'm back in Seoul, working and saving up for the next year.

I was raised as a wild hippy kid in the forests of Southern Oregon in the States. Since then, I've moved around a lot and lived many places, including Portland, San Diego, Edinburgh, Brisbane, and Seoul.

I'm vegan (not the self-righteous kind, though) and love eating and cooking foods like falafel, couscous, quinoa, curry, pad ke mao, and minestrone. I dig a good farmer's market.

I enjoy discussing politics but I always end up thinking that Noam Chomsky is right about everything.

Music, movies, and books are big parts of my life, as are hiking, multi-day tramps, and getting lost in new cities.

I have traveled quite a bit in SE Asia, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, Scandinavia India and Nepal so if any of those places are interesting to you I have lots to say. I love games--video games, sure, but even better are board games and card games.

Life is too serious to be taken seriously.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have couch-surfed in North America, New Zealand and Australia. Have hosted a few wandering Germans in my time as well.

I love exploring. Hiking and multi-day tramps are amazing, but I also love urban exploring; either getting lost in a new city or just visiting a restaurant in a new part of the city you live in.

My basic interests include reading, writing, watching movies. traveling, hiking, playing basketball, homebrewing beer, and science fiction in all forms.
