To explore SA and become fluent in Spanish
Hablo Espanol. Quiero aprender mas.
I gave up a great job as a newspaper reporter in Jackson Hole, where Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are located. There's also some sweet skiing there. I left to try to find "it." I'm not sure yet what it is. But I know I want to do some exploring, learn some more Spanish and write. I have a blog, excusemewaitress.com, where I have vowed to attempt to work illegally in South America, mostly as an experiment but also to make a vague point about illegal immigration in the U.S.
Wuiero conocer Argentina.
I live by the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I try to treat people well and do right by them regardless of how they treat me. I don't like to make fun of people and generally accept them for who they are. Of course, if who they are annoys me, I won't stick around. I'm not a massochist.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to Couch Surfers. I look forward to meeting people and getting to know Argentina better. I am currently couchsurfing with friends and family in Colorado so I can't host anyone just yet.
Eating, drinking, reading, biking, hiking and skiing. Anything outside or in a theater.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like all music and I feel that every experience ends up getting its own organic soundtrack.
Movies: Stranger than Fiction, Nepoleon Dynomite and Office Space are my favorites
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I took a four-mounth trip to South America three years ago knowing absolutely no Spanish and came back conversant.
Teach, Learn, Share
To share: Once you're through the security gates in a U.S. airport, airlines become remarkabley flexible. You can change your flight free of charge - fly at a different time or even to a different destination. I always buy the cheapest ticket even if the schedule is bad and look ahead of time at what other flights I could catch.
