About Me

I'm really easy going,. I like to meet new people and haven't been doing that after moving to East Lansing. I am deeply passionate about music - being an illiterate guitarist and drummer. I LOVE to improvise (doesn't matter what style - metal not preferred), there is a deep sense of connection with people that share that interest too.

I'm curious to understand American Culture and rid myself of the image television presents to the world I feel the best way to do that is to meet people who share a world view with the same interest in other cultures. I have traveled India extensively and would love to share what I know of it. I also want to find people I can go exploring with :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am finding it increasingly difficult to find social circles that I fit into through the people at school. A friend that I met in Minneapolis recommended I try getting on couch surfing. This system seems like a great way to meet people I would otherwise never chance upon meeting.

Interests

Music - I like to listen to all kinds of music, the same applies to live music too. from Big Band to nu-jazz to chillwave/chilltech, contemporary classical music, Jazz, Indie (back when it was actually "independent" music), deep tech, house, experimental. I tend to gravitate towards songs that have high crescendos and layers. lots and lots of layers.

Movies- anything that is intellectually stimulating, funny included. Baraka, Qatsi Trilogy, that sorts. I like to watch documentaries that are less propaganda more facts driven.

Travel - I live for travel. Back in India public transport between cities are pretty well connected and frequent, so it is really easy to just bus hop (no reservations) and explore. Here, I don't own a car and find it difficult to get around so it is disappointing to not see as much as I would want to..
