Hi there! I am Nicole, a 21 year old medical student from the Netherlands. Right now i am travelling around South-America for a few months and having loads of fun. So far i have visited Peru and Bolivia and at the moment i am in Buenos Aires, Argentina. When my travelling days are over i am going back to school to hopefully become a cardiologist someday!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing because i like meeting people from all over the world and not just stay in hostels all the time. I have never done it before but it seems like a lot of fun and loads of people have recommended it to me! Right now i am still travelling with a friend so we are in hostels but i will be by myself in Rio and i would love to spend my days there at someones place rather than a hostel.

Interests

My interests change everyday because i love talking to people i meet along the way about their home countries, where they have lived and what they have done. I love visiting things in the countries i visit plus i enjoy doing the active things do, like the jungle trail to MacchuPicchu and taking polo lessons (Buenos Aires, AMAZING).
For the rest my interests are in medicine of course, especially the heart. I also love taking photos but that does not really work yet since i do not have a good camera plus i am not that good haha. I was happy though when my friend from home who i spend two weeks travelling with in Bolivia taught me some stuff on her camera (graduated photographer).

Music, Movies, and Books

Wow this is a tough one, so much to choose from. I really love music by Jack Johnson, love his album in between dreams. Then again i also like Gorillaz and music i can dance to.
For books i would have to say the trilogy by Stieg Larsson: the girl with the dragon tattoo, the girl who played with fire and the girl who kicked the hornets nest. All three amazing books.
Movies i can watch endlessly, movies i like i can watch 10 times over and over again. The only thing i do not like is horror movies haha i am too scared for that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When i was in La Paz a month ago i climbed the Huayna Potosi, a 6088 mountain with the peak totally covered in snow. It was my first mountain ever to climb and the way op was harder than i could ever imagine but i made it to the top and that was one of the most beautiful things i have ever seen in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

In Holland i have done high school in English so this is something i could help in and for myself, I would love to learn some more spanish and portugese. For the rest i can of course tell you everything about my tiny little country that is called the Netherlands, like how 2/3 of it is below sea level and how our highest mountain is 300 m.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What i can share is my endless energy, a 99% positive attitude towards life and the will to try new things (i used to be a picky eater but i decided when going to South-America that i had to try everything before turning it down). I am always willing to help and i love to party, wake up at 10 the next morning and have an amazing day!
