My name is Ashlynn and I live in the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon. I'm a barista at a wonderful local coffee shop called Insomnia, and I'm an aspring writer. My biggest passion in life is traveling. Although it seems like I haven't been to a lot of places compared to many people on here, my goal in life is to travel to as many places as I can to experience different people and cultures! I'm very laid back and open minded, non-religious and extremely non-judgemental unless I believe you are harming another sentient being. I'm constantly looking for something to inspire my writing.

Right now I'm planning a solo trip to New York City for my 21st birthday. It's always been a dream of mine to visit NYC, but the trip is turning out to be quite expensive! I've never used couchsurfing before (which makes me a little nervous) but I like the idea of staying with a local who won't charge me rent and who can recommend some sights to see. :)

I listen to many genres of music, however I'm not a big country fan. I love horror movies. I love Simon Pegg movies. I also love reading; some of my favorite books are Paper Towns, the Odd Thomas series, and Tuesdays with Morrie.

I went to Haiti when I was 16 and helped build houses, feed the hungry, tend to the ill, take care of children, and clean up the city after the major earthquake. It was really life-changing!
