An adventurous spirit living a Monday-to-Friday-9-to-5 life. My husband is the "sensible one" of the two of us. ;) We live in Napanee, ON on 150 acres of overgrown farmland. We grew up in the Canadian Shield, swimming, hunting, fishing (summer and winter), snowmobiling, skating, etc. While we're not bar-hounds/party animals, we enjoy good company with good food and good wine/whiskey/beer. We don't pretend to be overly sophisticated, but we've got a sense of humour, can carry on a decent conversation and we gravitate toward good, honest people with good hearts.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

We're not ready to host or travel yet. I'm interested in getting to know some surfers and hosts and find out more about what this is all about. I don't know yet if it's the thing for us, but it sure sounds intriguing! I'm 39 years old and I've never even been on a plane. More and more, Jody and I are wanting to travel, now that our kids are old enough to manage themselves.

Music: Pretty much anything but elevator music.

Movies: Waiting for Lucy to come out on DVD. Cloud Atlas is one of our favorites.

Books: Jody likes Dan Brown and John Grisham, Erin has a list of classics on her bucket list. Currently reading The Red Tent.

I'd love to be immersed in another language and learn enough of it to communicate effectively. And I'm always up for learning some new skill to add to my toolbox. I love being Canadian and I'd love to share some of our culture with people from around the world.

I'm the mistress of the throw-down meal. I can show up at someone's house and whip up a pretty awesome meal with whatever you've got on hand. When you grow up almost a hundred miles from the nearest supermarket, you learn to make do with what you've got. I can read Tarot cards, too. :)
