I would describe myself as an artist of multiple mediums (literature, performance, and visual). I've lived in NYC most of my life, with a short stay in CT. I am constantly questioning the state of life as recorded and perceived. I am genuinely in love with the human condition and in turn sensitive to every beauty and flaw; every plight and pleasure. As an artist, teacher, and corporate manager, I've made friends from many walks of life. The best way to describe me is a jack of many trades and a cat of many lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am always excited to meet new personalities and characters. I enjoy living life in the most purest way. I am searching out new experiences, adventures, and challenges. I have a desire to live life with maximum torque and minimum inhibitions. I stumbled upon this site while watching videos on YouTube about traveling on a budget. Inspired by Jack Karouac's "On the Road," I've always wanted to see America for myself and maybe write the next great American novel. :-)

Interests

My interests are as eclectic as my friends. I enjoy discovering new music. As a writer, I read insatiably. I have a dozen magazine subscriptions, own a kindle, and have enough books to start a small school library. In simple terms, I like all things artistic, dining out, museums, books and book stores, photography, fashion, and the list really goes on forever. Ultimately, an open mind keeps my interests constantly growing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I never met a musical, cinematic, or literary genre I didn't give an honest exploration and eventually appreciate or unequivocally adore. That said, my life soundtrack is laced with mostly alternative, punk, jazz, and soulful compilations. Favorite Artist: Dave Matthews Band. As for movies, I really enjoy quirky French films, films with strong female leads, and action dramas.Favorite Movie: Amelie. But, I'll sit through almost anything. I love the Beat Generation. But my favorite writer is James Baldwin. Favorite book right now: The Alchemist.
