About Me

Hi community!

My name is Artyom (my foreign friends also call me Arty).
I'm at a glance:
1. I'm Belarusian and now live in Minsk.
2. I studied international and customs law in Moscow.
3. I deal with office real estate.
4. I like running, bodyweight crossfit, trainings for survival in the wild.
5. I mainly use Couchsurfing as a host.

I'm sociable (but not every day, you know), open-minded (but to a certain degree), spontaneous (but conservative if needed), like to laugh and discuss ideas (not people).

I'm here to meet you: to have a chat on what's really is going on in your country/town, what your think on this or that, what you like or what inspires you.

"Be not 'successful', but useful" - this is my new life motto I'm trying to follow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CS is a great way to find new friends, to live and to see the local places and processes as if I was local myself.

I'm definitely ready to host any bright people at my home and show them my town if I have time (I believe there is lack of information in English about Belarus over the web).

CS taught me that despite the differences we've got, we all have got tooooo much things in common.

Interests

Leisure: Books, running, bodyweight crossfit, survival in the wild nature, cinema.
I'm also interested in various esoteric approaches for spiritual development.

Business, Marketing, Real Estate.

Designing stunning Powerpoint presentations.

I'm inspired by Scandinavia, Vedic & Slavic culture (prehistoric times).

I'm fridge magnet collector.

Music, Movies, and Books

It is very interesting thing to listen to couchsurfers' favorite bands listed in this section of profile!
Please share with me YOUR favorite music also when we will meet!

Bushido, In Extremo, 30 seconds to Mars, Philip Glass, Ludovico Einaudi, Rammstein, old good ABBA, Queen, etc.

Movies: Snatch, In Brugges, Bad Santa, Armageddon, T2 (basically all old movies with Arnie), Last Night in New York, Girl with dragon tatoo - are among my favs.

Just now I've realized that movies is a trigger that pushed me to start travelling:
After watching @Känn ingen sorg@ at Swedish movies week, organized by the Embassy of Sweden in Minsk - I believed that the Swedes are even cooler than I thought - @ok, let's travel and check it out@.
Upd 03-06-2015: yep, they are:) well, most of them.
After watching @In Bruges@ - I traveled to see all that fascinating views and highlights of Belgium...

Books: Remarque, Victor Hugo, Theodor Dreiser, Ilf and Petrov, Vadim Zeland, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once my friends and I collected 2 000 $ singing child songs (note, nobody could sing properly) in the subway during the evening. Then we bought some toys and utencils and brought it to the orphanage, made a small concert for the kids using costumes of Spiderman, Green Lantern and other Marvel heroes, played with kids and had the best day ever.

I've also done rope jumping from 62 m height tower.

I've made a presentation of the Belarusian real estate market in English for a ex- Special Advisor of Margaret Thatcher.

I've climbed the top of Elbrus (5642m) the highest peak on the European continent.

I've ran 19 km extreme race at Berlin crossdays.de, extreme Bison Race in Minsk, and several halfmarathons.

I've participated in several special courses for survival in the wild by Ed Halilov (the only coach in Russia, attested in Bear Grills Survival Academy).

Teach, Learn, Share

I may tell you lots of interesting facts about life in the post Soviet Union country, history of pre-ancient Slavic culture if you like.
I may help you with Photoshop and Powerpoint, and teach some words in Russian language of course).
I may give you a piece of advice what shoud you take and how to train before going to Elbrus.
If you're deal with real estate we also will have common topics to share.
I'm an "oats-protein" pie cheff! Let's cook it!

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you need any assistance in day-to-day duties you may count on me.

My needs are few - so I bet I will cause no trouble or any disturbance for my host.
I can be most of the time on my own but if my host has free time to share it with me - that's great.

I hope I will enrich somebody's life with new thoughts, emotions and experience.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine
