I am a student on a masters program in Istanbul Technical University and an engineer working for a car company.
I was doing unofficial couchsurfing for 2 years (basically I was a total ho bo), by unofficial one, I mean that I was a couchsurfer coming and going between 11 different houses owned by my friends, all located in beautiful Istanbul. Now I am staying in my own house located in one of the best places to live in Istanbul, namely Kadikoy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people from all around the world, to speed marvellous time with great people, to discover the rest of the world..
Swimming, cycling, theater, poetry, philosophy, dancing (I have done flamenco and Tango for some time) Music (I play clarinet from time to time and I can sing many local songs in a good day :) ), some nerds' information about any science or about how stuff works.
Music, Movies, and Books
I listen almost any kind of music varying from folk to rock, from funk to classical and jazz. And I am happy to say that I have finally managed to find time to start playing my clarinet.
About books, I am always fascinated by world of books and literature has to offer. I read books from many cultures and fine pieces from authors including; Kurt Vonnegut, Albert Camus, Hermann Hesse, Franz Kafka.
I can't say I've watched too many movies but I really like watching them. If you combine these two information, that makes me a good companion to watch together :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was in the "bospohorus cross-continental swimming race" and placed 6th from around a thousand people.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like teaching and learning things very much, I think it's one of the best ways for people to connect and share. What I can teach includes; some Turkish songs, some tunes played with clarinet that you may never heard of, swimming (in a weekend with a good weather), Turkish and some engineering stuff (for the ones that are interested). I gave private lessons to make a living for a long time, so I can tell that I'm good at it.
What i can share is besides whatever there is in refrigerator, a lot of stories about Istanbul, about my travels and music of course. After having great time jamming with total strangers and friends in Thessaloniki, I think sharing music can be wonderful.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Almost everything that I brought with me. Sometimes it's music, sometimes funny stories, some tales from places I've visited, some strange jobs that I've worked etc.
Countries I’ve Visited
Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Slovenia, Switzerland
