Overview
About Me
I'm currently living with a family in Varese, Italy while studying Italian and au pairing part time. As I'm passionate about creativity and writing, I want to use this time to get creative and pursue travel writing and also to write some children's stories. This is my first time living abroad and I simply love Italy. I have yet to see all the big tourist attractions as I'm quite busy prioritising the culture. I also love off the beaten track travelling and discovering places that aren't infested with tourists ;)
I am a real relaxed people's person who loves exploring new places, food and culture. I am a neat and considerate guest and would love to be hosted by people who can tell me stories of their travels, life etc. and show me around and potentially become great friends.
I am new to couchsurfing and due to my current set-up in Varese (staying with another family) I am unfortunately unable to host CS but would be keen to meet up for coffee or aperitivo here or in Milan. Once I move back to South Africa I'd love to host CS!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My favourite thing about travelling is learning and getting immersed in local culture and getting to know new, interesting people. Therefore I think couchsurfing is perfect because I'd get to stay with locals who know all the best local spots, food and activities. I also always look forward to hearing their stories and learning something from them.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Anything that creates the right vibe for the occasion (but there is never a suitable occasion for hard metal/screaming-in-my-ears music).
Movies: Too many to mention...
Books: I usually read travel stories - I love Paul Theroux. One classic book from school I'll always love is How to Kill a Mockingbird.
