About Me

I spent most of my early adulthood in a vacuum. I have grown through fatherhood, life as a war-fighter, and a quest fro self actualization. Ironically, I can't say I have made much progress. I am constantly looking to share new memories with new people, in new places. I find it easy to make decisions, and take responsibility, even though my judgment is not always beyond reproach. I can't believe how hard it is to write about myself, so I will just write about my own mouth, for the fun of it:

My mouth is normal, to me. I treat it with respect and take good care of it. The teeth inside are sort of soft. I brush more than I feel like I should have too, but I don't obsess over hygiene. I have had three molars out, and I have quite a few caps.

They are silver.

My tongue is there. It has limited reach. My lips keep it in, along with my my short frenulum. They wanted to cut it free, when I was younger.

My lips are big.

I have a lot of skin on my face, I have learned a great deal of expressions.
I can turn my lips inside out, and I can mimic the clicking sounds from sea mammal videos. Being good at playing brass wind instruments means I have a high level of mouth dexterity. If that's actually a thing. I don't like overly hot or cold foods, so I might finish eating last if sharing a meal. I do not enjoy painfully spicy food, although well spiced food cannot be ignored.

my teeth are stain free, artistically placed, and my breath is never offensive.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I hope to be able to help those who are travelling through atlanta. I can provide rides to and from the airport, and soon I will be able to host. I would also like to find hosts for trips throughout the US. There is also the secondary goal of improving my character through the experience of couch surfing.

Interests

I like doing things.
I like doing things more than I like not doing things.
Although, sometimes, I do enjoy doing no things.

Music, Movies, and Books

There's a cliché, when it comes to music tastes, where a person says they listen to everything. I actually do listen to everything. From the romantic period to psy-trance, from synthesized kick drums to Portuguese vocalists, if my player is on shuffle I never know what will play next. Speaking of movies and books I enjoy suspense thrillers and historical fiction. My favorite book, right now, is "Alone on the Ice" by David Roberts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have a type of entry, in my journal, that I list as " stories to tell my grandchildren." These are the fibers of my life I find most vibrant, or scratches in my paint that I am reluctant to buff out. This is where "amazing" gets a little subjective, but I will share one of the entries:

"sometimes, when I'm doing things, I wonder how much of my time I spend doing those things. Here are a few examples:

I sleep about five hours a day (two or three on the weekend.) I drive about 80 minutes a day, during the week, and probably about 2 hours on the weekend.
I spend way more time staring at the computer (about six hours a day, and about eight on the weekend). I spend even more time looking for things like my wallet, or keys.
Let's investigate further and analyze the time I spend driving:
80m/60m is 1.3 hours, or .054 of a day. Where .054(365) is about 474 and a half hours a year or about nineteen days, If i continue my current pattern of behavior, then by the time I reach 80 years of age I will have spent about four years driving to work.

Four years I could have spent doing something completely different."

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very knowledgeable about communications technology, and very mechanically minded. I learn quickly and teach well. I would like to learn to do a backflip, or maybe walk on my hands. Sharing stories, and new memories, interests me most. I would love to share my writing, and music, as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a lot with hosts in the "helping hand" department. I have a really weird style of cooking. It tastes better than it looks, I promise!
