About Me

Hello!!
Not a linear path my life so far... I was first working as actor, then studying philosophy, then economics... in the meanwhile performing all kinds of small jobs, and traveling as much as I could!
I would described myself as a somehow artistic guy, an ex shy child who tried afterwords to leave of his inner world outside. I am starting to look for a more stable job and life-path, but I am still in love with adventures, discovering new places and people, and being open to all unexpected things may happen. On the other hand I put care and effort in other people, relatives and friends, because I think that generosity is the other side of what we receive from others.
I also love philosophy, reflecting on people and events and try to understand things and the world as much as I can. I love day-dreaming, traveling with imagination and all is related to art and poetry.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to open another window towards the world, in order to have more occasions to meet new people and to get in touch with different lives and situations. I see it as an additional door open for the unexpected and the new.
On the one hand I would love to use it in order to travel in a more adventurous way, getting in touch with locals or other travelers and multiplying the occasions of meetings. On the other hand I would like to share my own world and my perspective on the city I leave (and I think that having an external look on your own life is a great richness as well). In this period of my life I am living abroad and moving very often, but I have lived for 25 years in Rome and it was a great pleasure for me to show my city to friends and acquaintances coming from abroad. So as soon as my moving will be over I will restart hosting.

Interests

I love poetry, theater and philosophy. I love sports too, and was playing basketball, soccer and judo for years. I also love squash and badmington. A great passion of mine is also nature: I love hiking on mountains, biking and bike trips (I was traveling longly by bike in Germany and Netherlands). During summer I work as entertainer and guide for teenagers groups, and we all the time makes amazing trips in nature, all the time in different countries.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music group is Radiohead, but I love also Beirut, Venus, Mando Diaoz, Strokes, Oasis..... I don't which kind of music I specifically like, but many different kinds of music for sure. And all the classic Italian songs I can play on the guitar.

I love cinema a lot, and I enjoy any kind of movies, from action to science fiction to artistic and experimental movies.

I definitively love reading. I used to read a lot of romances (Dostoyevsky one of my favorite authors), whil now I am more for short tales (Calvino, Borges and Cortazar), poetry (Rilke, Baudelaire, Keats...) and philosophy (Derrida, Nancy, Vico, Merleau-Ponty...).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have too great souvenirs.

One is passing the Mekong with my friends Dario, in 2011, at 6 in the morning after a night spend on the bus, when we where crossing the border between Thailand and Cambodia during one of the most amazing trip I have ever done.

The other was riding a horse in the country of Tuscany dressed as a medieval knight, while I was working as an actor in 2009 for a tv series, and we were engaging in a battle all day long. I was then the character "Ranuccio", that I still love and remember with affection.

Teach, Learn, Share

Did you ever reflected on the specific life of words? did you ever think why "I" in English is uppercase? what would be your identity if the word "I" was not existing?

I was studying philosophy of language and I am still extremely fascinated by this kind of questions. So if you want to learn more or to reflect better about these things, you found the right person.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook some good Italian meals. I can listen and tell about my life and my perspective on things. I can joke and have fun together, or simply take a walk.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Cambodia, France, Germany, Laos, Netherlands Antilles, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom
