About Me

I accept my self as a true wanderer in life's voyage into the constant unknown of life itself. Recognizing that all my experience is constant learning and conscience expansion through interior and exterior adventures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I encourage myself to be open to meet new people and engage in new experiences all over the world. I believe that one main tool to expand one's view of the world is to travel and meet new cultures and new people. Consequently creating a reference point to be able to understand oneself's culture, tradition and behavior. Thus internalizing each experience and learning with each step taken.

Interests

My interest expand widely through all areas of art, music, literature, politics and economic. I could say I thoroughly engage in evolutionary anthropology, meaning that I like to learn in order to evolve and help society evolve. I am very interested in the growth of communities and societies, specifically through religion and culture.

I also love to surf, skii and play football (soccer). I constantly engage in outdoor experiences as hiking and camping. I have developed a strong relationship with nature as I feel a constant need to wander through trees, lakes and mountains. To let nature bewilder my senses with its animals, plants, water, skies and all that embellishes my sight, is one of my passions.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can't specifically say that I prefer a type of music over another type of music. I can say that I am a musical explorer, meaning that I love to find new music, ranging from jazz, blues, rock, hip-hop, soul, funk, reggae, samba, salsa, electronic, deep house, disco and much more.

I can say though, that I feel constantly departed from the homogeneous "TOP of the Chart pop" artists that dance without music and sing without lyrics (that is music and lyrics that I believe are just ephemeral and without content). And I can not feel more than strong sadness when I recognize that there are constant waves of music, art and literature that portray a world of money despair and seek for public recognition instead of artistic recreation. In constrast, though, there is also a beautiful and nurturing world of music and art that has been developing these years through the help of information and vastness of culture connection that our society experiences now at days. Hence there exists a infinite variety of awesome music from all over the world which makes me infinitely happy to think about, and more, when I think that I would never be able to know all of these music, which means that my music voyage is endless.

I very much like movies that make me think and movies that are artistically engaging. I think I have moved into watching many independent movies as South American movies, or festival movies. Some that are not made by Hollywood. I really like Guillermo del Toro, Stanley Kubrick, Quentin tarantino etc.

I read books of Fictional novel, Real novel, anthropology, human evolution, Magic Realism, Existentialism, Philosophy, Psychology and much more. My favorite writer is Gabriel Garcia Marquez and my favorite book is One Hundred Years of Solitude.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went hitchhiking for five days alone through the sunshine west coast of Vancouver Island. It was an amazing trip and it was very challenging. I had not much food to it since I had to carry my sleeping bag, my tent, clothes etc. I had to teach myself not to eat too much as I usually do and save food to be able to divide equally for the whole adventure. Another challenge was not speaking to people for several days. I could recognize there was a change in my behavior, as speaking to myself or to nature. And these opportunity of being alone helped me to divide the sense of loneliness with being alone. Truly I never felt lonely as I had myself and nature. I also developed my patience, since there were some long waiting before cars picked me up in some places. But this patience always rendered good experiences as the people that picked me up were always amazing souls and caring human beings.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to share experiences and I try to make people to share their experiences and their personal opinions over any matter. I really like to listen to people's ideas and perceptions about the world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a very kind part of myself. Full of happiness, love and understanding. I always try to help people and try to understand and learn from other's experiences. I will share always my effort to be constantly present with the person I am with and with the person that is helping me at the moment.

I will always try to share my scarce knowledge about my own experiences and my own understanding of the world and society.
