About Me

I'm a college student currently living in Atlanta, GA, USA. I grew up in South Korea, where I spent most of my childhood. I also lived in Singapore for almost 3 years, and that's when I started to have interests in learning and experiencing different cultures. Hoping to challenge myself in a totally new environment, I decided to apply for colleges in the USA and am now a student at Emory University.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Having lived in a few different countries, I have always found joy in experiencing different cultures not simply from a foreigner's point of view but also from a local's perspective. I believe that at the core of doing this lies an active interaction with people that belong to different cultures. Also, I'm an extrovert and just enjoy meeting new people in general:)

I also have a huge passion for music and teaching.
I'm double majoring in international studies and media studies, so I'm really interested in creating any media projects that address human rights issues. (I recently created a promo video for Crossroads Community Ministries, which is a non-profit organization that aids homeless population in the metro Atlanta area.)
I'm a huge football and tennis fan as well:)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wouldn't call it "amazing" cause it sounds like I'm being a show-off, but over the past year, I've been tutoring refugee children currently living in Clarkston Community in Atlanta. They are from literally all over the world; there are Nepalese, Burmese, Iraqis, Iranians, Eritreans, Ethiopians, and many more. Teaching these beautiful children and building personal relationships with them really helped me broaden my perspectives.
