Overview
About Me
Hi there! I'm a person that's amazed by all the beauty and knowledge in the world and eager to enjoy it as much as I can. I have studied in Belgium, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom and these experiences have taught me that in order to grasp a culture one needs to be submerged in its language and the everyday life of its local inhabitants. I have travelled a lot as a child with my parents and brother, so I guess they are to be blamed for my curiosity.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have had lots of experiences with Airbnb, but nevertheless I find that the focus was often too much on money instead of human interaction and I find that couch-surfing is a more pure way of travelling and exploring. Unfortunately, due to the fact that I frequently move countries and universities I often find myself unable to host travellers, but once I am settled I mean to show lots of people around, wherever that may be.
Interests
As a student and teacher of languages I am very much interested in the language and literature of the places I visit. I fill my time with reading, music, drama, singing, cooking, some more reading, judo, running, and although I grew up in a big city I have much appreciation for nature.

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music, movies, and books is impossible to capture in a few sentences.
I play the piano and study English literature, but my interest goes beyond these. Anything that triggers my senses and influences my perspective is worth a try!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most challenging and positive experience I have gone through so far was moving to the Netherlands when I was seventeen to go and study there. By forcedly stripping away external factors, like my hometown, family, friends, etc.. I learned a lot about myself and how much we are defined by our surroundings. Nevertheless I believe we can decide our own path and travelling is my way of doing so.
Oh, and travelling through Bolivia for three weeks was probably the most mind-blowing, eye-opening experience of my life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am an easy and independent traveller. This means that I take and give as much as my host feels comfortable with!
