Overview
About Me
Hey, I'm 22 guy whose originally from Liverpool! I lived there all my childhood. I then headed down to Bristol to study history at uni and now I am teaching English in a great little secondary school in Rotherham (just outside of Sheffield).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, I have been working full time for a year now. And to be honest, I'm looking for a bit of adventure! I want to meet great people, explore new places and try as many new things as possible. I don't want to tick places off a bucket list or always see the top tourist spots. I want to immerse myself into a culture and get to know local people!
Interests
Being from Liverpool, I do enjoy a good night out! Whether that's a big night out in Liverpool, Bristol or Sheffield or just a chilled one with mates. My job and passion is teaching. I love to teach and love the young people I work with every day. I teach English and am a big fan of words too (when I get chance to read!) I'm a fan of sounds too and have been to Glastonbury festival a couple of times which is the best place in the world. This year I'm heading to Rock En Seine to see Kasabian, The Chemical Brothers and The Libertines. I studied history at uni and studied the holocaust, slavery, the British Empire etc. I also practice transcendental meditation which helps keep me balanced and present- it's great.

Music, Movies, and Books
There is nothing I love more than good movies. My favorites are: The Godfather, Good Will Hunting, LOTR: The Two Towers, Mad Max, Chef, Interstellar, Leon, Meet the Fockers, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Shame.
I haven't always been a crazy music fan but lately I'm obsessed. Lately, I'm listening to: Alt-J, Jamie XX, Wolf Alice, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Everything Everything, Mumford and Sons, J. Cole, Monsters and Men, Florence and the Machine and AC/DC. I'm also into movie soundtracks massively.
And for books: Death of a Salesman, The Road, The Diary of Anne Frank, Blues for Mister Charlie, Gone Girl, The Tony Benn Diaries, Sherlock Holmes and obviously Harry Potter.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I worked out in Sierra Leone with a small NGO a few summers ago. I absolutely loved living and working with the people there. I lived with some students from a local uni who were inspiring people. I was fortunate enough to get the chance to teach a little English while I was out there which was great. I think Africa is the most beautiful place full of beautiful people. I can't wait to go back.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an English teacher so I should be able to teach you some English- well, you'd think!
What I Can Share with Hosts
You are more than welcome to stay at my flat in Rotherham at any time. It is a short distance from Sheffield and other great northern cities such as Liverpool and Manchester which I'd happily show you around.
I'd be happy to take you on a night out around Sheffield/Liverpool etc :)
I'm an awful cook but I can cook 'a pan of scouse' which is Liverpool's finest dish. I will try my best!
