About Me

Hi! I'm Dani, from Argentina! Currently, I'm living in Salerno, Italy with my boyfriend Tomas. He's finishing his studies here at UNISA in Civil Engineering and I'm here trying to make some money by babysitting, pet sitting, etc.
I'm in the third year of English Translation at UNC in Argentina, but I'm giving it a break at the moment. Since I'm living in Italy, I'm trying to learn this new language that is tougher than I thought it'd be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First of all, I think this is the best way to meet people from all over the world. Not only helping them to have a nice stay and cultural exchange in a particular place but also to benefit from this to happen the other way round.

Interests

First of all, I love cooking. I prefer veggies, but I can cook Argentinian food and Italian food. I'd love sharing recipes and tips!
Then, at home, we enjoy all kinds of arts! we're always listening to different styles of music, from all over the world. My boyfriend is learning to play the Ukelele (and I should too). We also enjoy watching movies and documentaries with our projector. I love photography, taking portraits mostly and I reaaaally love embroidery art. I have a box with all my stuff and I embroider something new almost every day.
Last but not least, we have the Tyrrhenian Sea at only 1km from home. When Tomas is free, we love to spend the whole day at the beach or we ride our bikes to the Costiera Amalfitana.

Music, Movies, and Books

About music... at home we listen to a bit of everything, for instance: Cumbia, Cuarteto and rock from Argentina, Jack Johnson and Donavon Frankenreiter from Hawaii, The Beatles, The kooks, LP, Amy Winehouse from Britain, Natalia Lafourcade, Bomba Estereo from Mexico, Devendra Banhart from Venezuela, and also all the Tiny Desk Concerts, because we love them all!

About Movies, I prefer mystery or Sci-Fi. But I like to watch a bit of everything, too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few years ago, Tomas and I travel through Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador. While waiting for a boat to go snorkeling near Montañita, Tomas found a baby sea turtle almost death on the sand. We pick it up and put it on a can we found with water. Little by little it started moving and swimming! When we saw the turtle was OK, we got into the sea and set it free. It was an exceptional sensation!

Teach, Learn, Share

Things we can teach, learn and share... obviously language, recipes, skills! I love making handcrafts, painting, embroidery, music.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can show you Salerno! some hiking trails, delicious pizza! Some Argentinian food also if you want. I don't know many Italians, but there're lots of Argentinian people here (almost the same). I can provide good and cheap tips to know the Costiera Amalfitana, as well as other beautiful places near here.
