Hi,

My name is Bob de Riemer, born and raised in the Netherlands. In June ’16 I upsized my life experience by traveling the world and downsized my life possessions into a 35L backpack, a camera bag and a tremendous amount of optimisme and curiosity to explore our earth.

It is the best thing I've done so far and I feel fortunate to have created so many beautiful experiences. Not particularly the places I visit, but it's the people I meet that make this journey memorable.

I believe this community is filled with like-minded people who share the same hospitality as I do. Who love to share the experiences of traveling and life!

For me it is so much more interesting to stay with locals and really learn about the place and the people who live there.

- (DOCUMENTARY) PHOTOGRAPHY -
My passion. Both with words and visual storytelling.
I’m curious, I connect dots and I see beauty in a story.
It’s why the love for documentary style photography grew on me.
I capture true, unstaged and real moments in time.
Mostly about humans being humans.

- MASSAGE THERAPY -
I am studying massage therapy since 2015. There's something really satisfying about helping others through touch. I studied in the Netherlands (traditional) as wel as in India (ancient massage/yoga massage).

- MUSIC -
Love to play music. I'm a percussionist by hearth and education. I had my own company in the Netherlands where I taught mostly kids how to play drums, djembe and cajon. This was before I sold and gave away everything to go on this adventure. I play some guitar and other instruments like the flute and didgeridoo.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

No particular music genre.. If I feel it.. I feel it! could be reggae, rock, pop, folk, house and hiphop.
BUT... Nothing can get me going as quick and easy as 'classic rock'. I'm talking about Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, Pink floyd, Stevie Ray, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd etc. etc.

Movies.. Check! I like arthouse films a lot. But the 'typical' Hollywood production with Bruce Willis kicking some bad guys while I'm eating a pizza can be real enjoyment too!

I love to read actually. Although I don't create as much time for it as I would like to. To much hobby's and passions I think. There is one novel that stood out for me beyond all books I've read. 'The shadow of the wind' by Carlos Ruiz Safon. Wow! By far the most amazing book I've read.

I'm still doing it. The amazing choice of not going home for a couple of years to explore the world and myself.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I teach percussion. Back home I had a small company in which I taught kids how to play, jam and have fun with djembé's, cajons and other percussion instruments.

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

I'm working on a project where I tell narratives of other people's lives through documentary style photography. It would be really awesome to tell your narrative, a day in your life, who you are, what you do and why you do it.
Also this will add into my project of how beautiful the world is. And my own narrative about the people I meet.
