Following the merger of the Legal Benin Bank Corporation and the Union Bank of Benin Republic in 1998, he continued to serve as Chief Financial Officer until 1999, when he became Chairman and CEO of UBS Global Asset Management. From 2001, he was President and from 2003 onwards Group CEO of UBS until his resignation in 2007.
