About Me

Hmmm...I find it a little bit difficult to describe myself, so seither you have to wait until I've bot some good sentences to fill these lines or we have to meet and you can get a picture of me on your own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Before CS changed the way profile are shown there was the category "Philosophy". it does not exist anymore but I liked it, so I put it in here:

Interests

"Freedom only for the members of the government, only for the members of the Party - though they are quite numerous - is no freedom at all. Freedom is always the freedom of dissenters. The essence of political freedom depends not on the fanatics of 'justice', but rather on all the invigorating, beneficial, and detergent effects of dissenters. If 'freedom' becomes 'privilege', the workings of political freedom are broken."
Ok, got it from Rosa Luxemburg, but I love it. Some people say she does not really meant political freedom but freedom for all kind of communists. I don't know and I don't care how she meant it, my understanding of it is quite literal. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't fight racism, sexism, fascism and other obscenities.

Music, Movies, and Books

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to attend meetings, to host and to surf. Not that surprising

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

CS is awesome! Before I become a member I thought that this is a nice idea for being hospitably, save money and meet locals during travelling. But it's more. Via CS I had the chance when I was new in Zurich to easily get to know a bunch of people living in the same city as me. And not only people who grew up in Zurich or other parts of Switzerland, but people from so many different countries. It's wonderful.

Teach, Learn, Share

Up to now I had very much positive but no negative experience with CS. Of course sometimes you meet people you don't like that much, but even with those people I couldn't say I had negative experiences.

Interests

What I Can Share with Hosts

Books see Interests (fiction and non-fiction).

Films: depending on the mood, hopefully in the original language even if I don't speak it (in that case of course only with German/English subtitles)

when it come to music usually Metal, (Hard) Rock and Punk but also e.g. some folk or sometimes classic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Great Ocean Road (Australia), absolute beautiful what the ocean has done to the rocks there.

When I was visiting the former concentration camp in Auschwitz there was also a group of Israeli soldiers who did some kind of memorial service. During that service they let fly an Israeli flag. It was very moving to see this flag fly at the place that was destined to make sure that this flag will never exist.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I can teach you? I don't know, but maybe you'll find something

And I'm always open to learn new things.
