My name's Ryan and I'm a medical student at the University of Queensland. I am from the United States of America, but I love exploring new cultures and meeting new people so I decided to study medicine in Australia. Aspiring physician and world traveller.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first experience with Couchsurfing was when I was studying abroad in the UK. Through couchsurfing, I was able to explore Europe and meet incredible people of various careers, cultures, and mindsets. I find it so rewarding to open up my perspective and learn how others view the world. My love of travel led me to apply to medical school in Australia, which brings me here today!

Interests

Cooking, guitar, gaming, science, fitness, exploring.

Fitness is very important to me! I stay active in the gym through weightlifting and eat healthy. If you want to learn how to lift weights, I'd be happy to teach you the basics. I'm also always down for a hike!

I also love to bike! I try to bike in every country that I can, a habit I learned from Arnold Schwarzenegger: "Never tell me you don't have time to exercise. Every time I visit a city, I go on a bike ride immediately."

Lastly, I love food! Some of my favorite experiences from Couchsurfing are sharing meals or cooking a traditional meal with others. If you don't know how to cook, we can look up a recipe :D
