À propos de moi

Halo, salam hangat dari Yogyakarta! (=Hello, warm greetings from Yogyakarta!)
I'm Olynovia, living my entire 21 years in a cultural yet historical city - Yogyakarta. Currently, I'm studying in Economics and Business Faculty in a local university. I hate uni though, it's so boring. I live with my parents in a very small wooden house near the Sultanate Palace of Yogyakarta (Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat). Well, I wish I can host some of you in my house but seems it's not possible due to the limited size of my house :/

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

Well, I think Couchsurfing is a brilliant idea to experience a destination. Also, real win-win solution for a backpacker with limited budget and a person who have extra couch in his/her house. And most importantly, we can meet new people here, all around the world. I've seen many foreigners in my city, but never have the initiative to greet them first. They usually just ask for direction and I - nervously- answer with poor English. Now, I think I've made a bit of improvement for my English speaking. Couchsurfing also can be a platform for me to meet people who want to explore Yogyakarta, because I'd like to accompany them to walk around here and introduce my city a bit :) Well, I'm not a very good guide though. Feel free to ask me if I can accompany you to go around Yogyakarta!

Centres d'intérêt

First thing first, I have to say that I'm passionate in traveling (one more reason why I signed up here). I have a big plan (they say.. don't call it a dream, call it a plan) to explore South-East Asia and then Eastern Europe. My other interests are postcrossing (send and receive postcards from all over the world), reading books and novels, watching Buzzfeed's videos, doodling, daydreaming, imagining, taking photos, etc. I love history and art, I'd like to touch(or at least, see) an old illuminated manuscript! I love museums and antique things. I also love learning languages .

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Music is part of my everyday life. I love doing things while listening to music. I love almost all genres of music (whatever catchy to my ears). I'm a fan of Javanese traditional music, well, I joined in a Gamelan club. I've played Gamelan (don't know yet what it is? Google it! :B) since I was in 5th grade of elementary school. I also a big fan of classical music, especially those composed by Viennese composers, Strauss family. My favorite bands are Granville (French). Stoffer og Maskinen (Danish), Happysad and Enej (both are Polish), Bakkushan (German), Coldplay (British), Panic! At The Disco (American), Sigur Ros (Icelandic) and Sheila On 7 (Indonesian). Yeah, thus, my playlists are in those languages too.

As for movies and books, I love anything to do with comedy, adventure, traveling, history, and mystery. I also love to watch documentary films.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I've ever backpacking to Bali Island with my friends from uni and a new friend from Turkey. It's one of the most amazing moment in my life. Finally I can pack my bag and exploring another island in my beloved country, Indonesia (which has thousands of islands.. and so far, I've visited 3 of them..) One thing that adds up the special moment was when we (my uni friends and I) accompany our Turkish friend to explore Yogyakarta and then Bali. We had great time together and share stories with each others. Now, we still correspond with our Turkish friend through postcards and e-mail :)

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I can teach you a bit of Bahasa Indonesia or Javanese language along with its alphabets (you can use it as a secret alphabets in your secret diary! Well, you have to hide it from me though and other Javanese that can understand the alphabets)

I can introduce you things about Gamelan. Or maybe if you happen to visit Yogyakarta, I can show you the Gamelan music instruments at my campus :D

I can share food at my house, cooked by my mom :D (No, not me)

I'd like to learn new languages, cuisine and history :) and anything about life

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

I'll be happy to share thoughts, stories, culture, language, dreams, crazy ideas, laughs, sincere smile :) And time to hang out together, if the host want.
