Hey, my name is Maike. I'm originally from Berlin, but currently living in Chemnitz to study psychology. I will (hopefully) get my bachelor degree this year. After that I want to take part in a master's programm, in which i can study at least one semester abroad. I'm also working as an research assistant at the university.
I'm currently living with my boyfriend in a 2-room-apartment with a beautiful balcony on which I'm growing strawberries and bell peppers (or at least I try to ;))
Besides I spend a lot of time with my best friend Danny, who is also studying psychology in Chemnitz. Since she is at least as curious about the world and the people in it as I am, she will be my travel-buddy most of the time :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was sixteen I took part in a student exchange program, where I visited Mexico for two weeks. During my stay I was living with the family of my exchange partner and later, when he was in Germany he was living with my family. Ever since then I knew, that I wanted to see the world, preferably not only through the eyes of a tourist. The best way to do this, is to meet people, who live there and get to know them. Of course I'm also happy to meet people, who travel in Germany and show them around and couchsurfing seems to be a great way to do that :)

Interests

Next to all the typical things like going out, meeting friends and things like that, I'm making my own jewelry and other accessories. If there is the opportunity I also like to dance rock'n'roll or swing or anything inbetween, even if I'm not the best dancer (yet ;)). And since Danny and I really like psychology, but not always the way it is displayed, we write our own blog (called psydra) about it and our experiences at the university.

I love to read, especially fantasy books, like the hollows series by Kim Harrison or the sword of truth series by Terry Goodkind and many many more.
