I'm a regular middle-class guy from Costa Rica who wants to meet people in order to learn and teach everything I can and have fun in the process. I love my family & friends. I think I'm a nice and easygoing guy who wants to take his life to another level. In May 2016 I will move from CR to Canada in order to grow as a person and make some new experiences and wonderful memories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really want to become part of the International Traveller Community and I think CS is a "must-have" of it. For the time being I'm not able to take anyone to my house but in the future I really want to share my space with fellow travellers.

I want to meet people from Canada (and all over the world) who can give me one advice or two.... and maybe host me for a few days so I can find by myself a place to live, a job and a new life during this Canadian adventure.

To be honest, ever since I was a teenager I have always dreamed about travelling but it was until last year that I finally had the chance to get on a plane for the first time. I was able to visit the USA due to work. Then, I made an incredible trip to Peru with my brothers and one friend (Totally recommended). There I met some people who had been travelling across Latin America. That's when I discovered that I wanted to give it a try... I want to see the world and I want wanderlust to become part of my life.

Now let's get back to 2016: I have a visa that allows me to live and work legally in CANADA for a whole year. After several weeks/months of thinking I decided to pull the trigger and quit my job. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made, but sacrifices must be done in order to achieve major things. Despite having a comfortable and great life here in Costa Rica, So next May 9th of 2016 I'll move to Canada. My adventure will start in Alberta and only God knows where it will finish...

Interests

In general terms, I think I am a curious guy who wants to understand the world and its people. Therefore I love things such as:

1) Reading (history, novels, world politics and everything in between).
2) Languages (only through languages one can understand cultures)

I also love sports (swimming, mountain cycling, basketball and football), learning new skills and having a nice time with family and friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I must say I´m really into reading. Ever since I was a teenager I have tried to read as much as I can (Although every good reader knows it´s never enough). Just to name a few:

Spiritual: The Bible. Philosophy: Stoicism (mainly Seneca). World History, Biographies, WWI, WWII, Latin American History, History of Religions. Politics & World Affairs. Novels and short stories.

Among my favorite books / authors there are:

"Don Quijote de La Mancha". "Travel Chronicles" by Joaquín Gutierrez (Costa Rican author). "On the Road" by Jack Kerouak. "The unbearable lightness of being" by Milan Kundera. "In cold blood" by Truman Capote. Costa Rican Literature. Latin American Literature (Vargas Llosa, Cortázar, Sábato). Everything written by Ernest Hemingway, Graham Greene.

Please, give me any other literary recommendation you think I would like.

MUSIC:

Rock & Roll: Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who, Nick Drake, The Clash, The Jam, David Bowie and almost everything that came from the UK during the 60´s, 70´s & 80´s. Britpop: Oasis, Stone Roses, Blur, Pulp. Brazilian Music. Latin American & Spanish Rock n´ Roll.
