About Me

bird of passage (at least in my thoughts)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

let me congratulate CS team for their innovation of meeting people in different parts of our planet, hosting at one's own place and being a guest at some one's place you didn't know before..all initiated thru internet..fabulous. i often found it boring when we are in a new place and have no one to talk to, we move like robots feel like we don't exist.

i love to be at home. can we get rid of hunger and thirst. of course i may not. its very interesting some people even offer to cook for their guests. food and fluids have become habitual and essential for a healthy living. while travelling when the intake from streets, shops and hotels are common, digestive apparatus protests and one gets tired and looses energy..it kills the thrill of trip itself.

i am left with a question how my mother like many mothers in our culture cooks for the family at least thrice a day on a regular basis apart from other household chores. how can you reciprocate to this sacrifice, i wonder. amazing thing here is an unseen bond flourishes between the provider and the recipient.

under a roof, away from clumsy and unhygienic lodges and hopeless loneliness offered by hotel rooms, an at home feeling of some one to host you in a distant place is thriving and warm enough. you may turn a blind eye on discomforts and limited facilities, if the host is kind and friendly in nature. you will have all ears for what the person wish to share with you whether it is happiness that eluded or the concerns successfully overcame.

a host might be able to tell you about the local lifestyles, traditions, food habits, nature.. weather and species around, stories about places of historic importance, common worship places you can visit, places you wish to explore and entertainment destinations. what are the customs people practice, what do people do for a living, how do they spend their leisure time, where is the local market..there is more possibility that you get right information from your new found friend. wonderful isn't it.

home is a relaxed and safe place. when you get it away from your home, in a new place with rather strange surroundings, you feel very comfortable and that sets your mood to hop like a grass hopper .

you get to know a new acquaintance is really interesting and getting a new contact far from your own place is priceless. money limits people to do things and travelling of course is a mirage for many. with the presence of a generous host i believe we can really challenge this difficulty and start packing up to land in places of our dreams and leave memories for life!
