My name is Thilde. I'm an 18 years old girl living near Copenhagen, Denmark in Scandinavia with my parents, my two little sisters and one lonely littlebrother. This year I'm graduating danish high school and therefore I have decided to go study somewhere else.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In the fall of 2016 I'm going to study one semester on a university in San Marcos. I currently have a room on campus available from the 27th of august. However I arrive to San Marcos the 19th of august because I'm an international student. I therefore need a temporary home for 8 days. Since I'm going to study in San Marcos for a semester and I'm coming all the way from Scandinavia, Denmark it would be nice to get to know some locals to show me the city before starting on the university. Also it would be great to meet some people in San Marcos since I'm traveling all by my self.

Interests

In danish high school my main subjects have been math, physics and chemistry so that is some of interests. However I also like to read and I'm very good at writing. In my sparetime I like to hang out with my friends or relax with the tv-show "Friends". I like keeping myself busy which means I often put-on a lot of other activities. For example I have recently been chosen to be the instructor of this year school musical on my high school. I especially have an interest in biology and chemistry which means I have participated in some masterclasses in among other things medicinal chemistry. Furthermore I used to play tennis, sing in a choir and take dancing lessons but I got to busy with my school in the 2nd year so these interest were downgraded a little. Last but not least I love to learn new things, get new experiences and meet new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big fan of Harry Potter - both the movies and the books. Also I love the disney movie 'Frozen' which I have seen with my sister more than 10 times at least. When it comes to music I have a wide taste. However I have been to a concert with the danish singer MØ that I really enjoyed.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So far I haven't really tried anything special in my life. I have been following the compulsory danish school system and going to danish high school which is the most common thing to do in Denmark after public school. All my life have been centered around my house in a distance of maximum 2 km. Therefore I'm counting of this semester in San Marcos to be the most amazing thing I've done. I'm really looking forward to this experience and hoping to get the best possible out of it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since I come from the small country Denmark in Scandinavia I could share the danish culture with my hosts such as food, music, politics and further. Besides that I can share myself since I want to get to know some people.
