About Me
Hey! I'm Thomas, a 26 yo Dutchie. I would describe myself as a very easy going dude, very positive and open-minded and love to meet new people and hear their stories and experiences. I love music, and if we have similar interests, I can go on for days about artists and trivia about them.
Other than this I'm a very sporty guy, I love surfing (one big reason I'm travelling to Australia: I need practice!) and I love camping and being in nature in general.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A lot of reasons, the main ones being that I love to meet locals, and I'm not really a big fan of the hostel culture and being in the middle of a lot of tourists, so I'd prefer to stay somewhere that is more meaningful for me.
Also, I want to try to travel as "budget" as possible in order to stay underway for as long as possible.
Interests
Aspiring surfer, very sporty guy in general. It's kind of a healthy obsession: I just have to do something active every day.
I love being in nature, not really a big fan of huge cities and being a tourist. I want to camp, go on adventures and just appreciate the things in life that don't require a lot of money (so to say...).
Music is one of my big passions. I don't play instruments, just because I don't have any feeling for it, but I love a lot of artists and love reading about them, watching their documentaries and finding out about their lives and their lyrics.

Music, Movies, and Books
Some of my favourite artists in music are: Bob Dylan, Freddie Mercury, Eddie Vedder, Kurt Cobain, the Stones, Amy Winehouse, and loads more that classify as "Rock from anywhere between the 60s and 90s".
I can appreciate movies if they have sort of a meaning or a message in them. One of my favourite ones is Into The Wild (also for the music).
As for books, I love reading things that have sort of a spiritual sense. For example I read some works from Paulo Coelho, but I'm also kind of a nerd for Game of Thrones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Volunteering, being an English teaching assistant in an Italian Highschool. That was an awesome experience! I lived with an Italian family for 6 weeks or so.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some things about cooking, and I have quite some experience in high class restaurants and bars, so if you're interested in learning about serving, I can maybe teach you a thing or 2 about that. I can tell you a thing or 2 about some musicians that I like, and some things about workouts!
I'm always open for learning about people and their life experiences and their wisdom. I love learning more about music, cooking, and uncharted territory.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook 😁 and I can offer my eternal gratitude! And I'll probably also clean your place.
