Hello! My name is Drew Zaun and I am currently living in Nakuru, Kenya. I work for a non-profit called Hopeful Africa where we sponsor over 18 teachers and 62 students around the Nakuru area. Before I came to Kenya, I was a Wine and Spirits Specialist at a large distributor in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. I played American football at the University of Iowa where I received my Bachelors degree.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couch surfing because I want to experience as much of Africa as I can. I have currently been in Nakuru, Kenya for the last month and am planning on visiting Mombasa, Kenya, Seychelles and South Africa by myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love listening to country music and christian rap music. I love reading business books and daily devotion books. I am a movie nut so I like many different movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A month ago, I decided to quit my job and put all of my efforts into raising awareness for the non-profit I volunteer for called Hopeful Africa. I left the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA without telling anyone besides my closest friends. My travels across Africa has already been a very spiritual journey for me so I am happy to extend my stay.
