About Me

I am married to a wonderful, very patient, loving man. I'm also blessed to be Mom to four incredible sons! My first little boy died of leukemia when he was just four years old. My other sons are grown and quite amazing! All my guys are the light of my life! My husband and my three boys have given me a million reasons to keep living, and loving, ever since my son died. I am very outgoing and social, yet can be reserved at times, too. I am very intune to people's emotions and actions. I am a volunteer for many causes, but most of all for childhood cancer. I've also organized and hosted fundraisers. One event is a yearly live music fundraising concert, held in memory of my little boy. The events proceeds have enabled our family to award 18 scholarships to local high school graduates and their families, all who've faced cancer. Basically, because of my most difficult life experiences, I've learned to reach out and help others every chance I get! I now believe that's what we're on this earth for anyway!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think the premise of helping people find a place to stay, in a time where for many people...money is scarce. The perk is potentially meeting wonderful people along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love contemporary Christian music and especially Chris Tomlin, Mark Schultz, Casting Crowns, Mercy Me, etc. I also like classic rock, folk music, etc.
Movies... Love real life dramas, adventure flicks, etc.
Books... I'm not a big reader these days. I can't seem to stay awake! :) However, I do love "The Bible", "Purpose Driven Life", "A Boy Called It" (very sad, but true story), "The Shack", etc
My favorite ministries are Intentional Living, with Dr. Randy Carlson, and also Focus on the Family. I also get so much out of the teaching of Gary Smalley, Beth Moore, Greg Laurie and Rick Warren.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've raised three incredible sons...and also survived burying a child! I never thought I could live through such pain...but somehow I did! Surely not alone though!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach people about life, struggles and overcoming challenges
I love to learn. I was a very strong student, and am even considering going back to school to finish my nursing degree, and finally get it checked off of my bucket list! I think Couchsurfing is really great because I love to hear about and share life experiences!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my heart, our home and my life experiences!
We live on a small lake, and would gladly share it's peace and serenity with others who might need those things as much as I do!
I love to share my family and stories about my family, especially about our boys! They are very musical, and are also very kind, compassionate, amazing guys! Basically...they just rock!!
I can also share my positive attitude on life...despite my life challenges. That's probably why I try to be so positive...because I've overcome monumental hurdles...and I'm beyond grateful that I did! So, I have learned to work really hard to try to look at everything and life in the most positive way!
