About Me

My name is Eduardo Ancona Bolio I live in a town called Merida, in Yucatan, (south east of) Mexico. I'm 22 years old and right now I'm studying my 4th year of law. Professionally I'm really interested in international affairs, international law and constitutional law, besides that I'm personally interested in literature, history, music and architecture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it would be a wonderful experience to travel on couchsurffing, because I'm convinced that the best way to know a place it's to know its people. In the big picture I think that these is the kind of thinks that can help to build the bridges we all need, between countries and cultures, but more important between human beings.

Music, Movies, and Books

Regarding music I'm very eclectic, I would say that my favorite artists/bands are AC/DC, Elton John, U2 and a couple of Spanish singers, Manuel Mijares and Miguel Bose, but I enjoy all music, from Beyoncé to Tchaikovsky haha.
Reading is one of mi passions, if I have to choose 3 books maybe I would say The feast of the goat by Mario Vargas Llosa, The death of Artemio Cruz by Carlos Fuentes and I recently read Joel Dicker's The book of the Baltimores which I enjoyed a lot. Buy I'm not sure, my favorite books list is always changing!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Maybe in 2014 when I worked with the Mexican mission at the UN, but I always think that our greatest accomplishments and moments are yet to come

Teach, Learn, Share

All in all I think that learning is the best activity for anyone, talking is one of the things I enjoy the most, and I think that you can ALWAYS get to learn something new when talking to anyone out there, just by trying to understand how he or she sees the world will create an enjoyable and intellectually stimulating experience.
Recently I have been invited to deliver a couple of conferences and in August I will be teaching at a high school, and I found that sharing the (very very small amount of) knowledge I have is one of the greatest and most satisfying things I can do.
Also I'm always very interested in speaking about Mexican and yucatan culture with everyone and helping someone with his o her Spanish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think I can share my experiences and my culture, but above all I think my best asset it's a good conversation, I'm always willing to talk with everyone.
