About Me

Hi everyone!

I come from Brno in Czechia, currently starting my first year at the university. I'm interested in history and politics, always appreciate a cup of good tea, interesting book and inspiring debate about the meaning of life :).

I like being on the way, doesn't matter whether I'm just travelling to the nearest town or to another continent. I've lived in Norway for six months and generally admire northern Europe, both for their unique culture and beautiful nature.

I'm not accepting hosts right now, but plan to start during autumn when I'm done with all organization stuff related with settling a new home. When it's all done, I'm looking forward to meet any lost wanderer that happens to come to Brno :)...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

...Because I believe that a country is best understandable through its people, and Couchsurfing is a perfect way to meet them. Because I've been offered hospitality many times when I was travelling and I think it's right to repay by providing the same to others. And because for a poor student, it's of course better to stay with locals than pay for a hotel :).

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to quite wide range of music, from French chansons (admire ZAZ) to Irish folk songs and power metal. The band of my teenage years is Nightwish, my current most favorite is Powerwolf.

As a nerd and fantasy-lover, I have my "most favorite" list filled mostly with books from fantasy and sci-fi genre -
Lord of the Rings (almost obligatory), Game of Thrones, Witcher and Christopher Paolini's Inheritance cycle. Recently I fell in deep love with Malazan Book of the Fallen series (reading House of Chains). One of my most favorite Czech works is Mycelium by Vilma Kadlečková.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To pick one recent from the loooong list (cause you know, my whole life is amazing ;), it would be swimming in the freezing Scottish loch this year. Even though it was summer, the water was cold as hell - but made me an unforgettable memory :).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share with you the dark secrets of witchcraft, latest news from Illuminati meetings and map to the Holy Grail ;). But if you prefer less exhaustive activities, I can show you the beauties of my home city (Brno is second largest city in Czechia and definitely worth seeing), the best tea houses and cafes we have here and stories about Czechs you will definitely not find in any travel guide.
I don't cook much, but can manage some traditional recipes, so if you're interested in Czech cuisine, be my guest. The same stands for Czech language. With its "ř", "ch" and impossible declension system, it's definitely very funny way to spend your travel time ;).
