About Me

I am an Franco-american eighteen year old living in Niskayuna, NY USA. I've lived on three different continents, and because of this, as well as growing up in a bilingual household, I love to travel, explore new places, as well as to meet new people. I absolutely adore food. One of my favorite things to do is cook/bake, especially foods from other countries. When I travel somewhere I make sure to try everything I can, because a country's food is a window into its culture. I can't get enough of singing, whether it be in the shower or with other people. I love to joke and laugh. I have an endless love for cats. I am polite, respectful of my surroundings, and tidy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel this summer with a friend of mine, and our budget is limited, so we would like to try and economize as much as we can. I'm also really intrigued by the idea of getting to meet new people through staying at their house. I hope to make interesting acquaintances and memories I can look back on with a smile.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love pop and jazz, although I am open to almost anything. Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra are my favorite jazz singers.
Movies: My favorite movies are My Neighbor Totoro and anything by Studio Ghibli, as well as Arrival and Singing in the Rain.
Books: currently my favorite books are Perfume by Patrick Süskind and Beloved by Toni Morrison.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was hosted by a family in Almería, Spain for a week as part of a school exchange, and it was absolutely fantastic. My host parents were incredibly welcoming, and I felt like I was part of their family. They are part of the reason why I wish to visit more of Spain.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help people if they are trying to learn a language I can speak. I love to sing, so if anyone wants to sing together I will always be there. I am open to learn anything that my host has to teach me, about their culture, city, interests, hobbies, etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My love of different cultures, and my knowledge of languages if they are looking to practice one that is within my repertoire. If they enjoy food I can try to bring them something from where we live, i.e. maple syrup. I have some very tasty recipes to share that I've collected from the different places I've been to/lived in.
