I have loved travelling all my life. I love food and cooking and finding new cuisines in many different countries. I'm a philosopher of life, I have lived a long time and my memories are blessed with having met wonderful people and seen extraordinary places. I love sport, especially football. My main interest in life is my writing and my filming. Both have to do with people. Writing is of course, character driven, and making documentaries is usually about people also; their stories, their life's, how they live, and what they want from life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why am I on Couchsurfing? Very simply because I am beginning a Film Project in Peru on October 1st, for a nine month period, until June of next year 2018. I am looking forward to learning about Peru from the hosts I will meet and encounter along the way. Couchsurfing is such a wonderful concept in our troubled world today.

Music, Movies, and Books

Blues. Rock & Roll. Traditional. World Music. Classical. Authors from Ireland, Britain, India, the US and Canada. Authors from other English speaking countries. Translated authors from South America, France, Italy, Germany etc, etc. World Film more than Hollywood. Of course I love the best of Hollywood but most have become too violent over the past 20 years. Lately I have watched some excellent, Spanish, and films from many South American countries because I'm trying to learn the language. I love reading most of all. Somewhere I read: "If you don't read, you live one life; if you read, you live a thousand lives.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 18, I travelled overland from Boston to Buenos Aires in 1973. Drove from Boston to Panama City. Hitch-hiked from Cartagena, Colombia, to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
