Hi, I’m Lorain and I’m from Switzerland!
I’m a primary school teacher
The main goal in my live is to be happy and to see the world as much as possible through motivational professional projects.
My dream is to live in a place where I could surf before having breakfast and like on the US west coast or in Australia.
I also consider the Northern Europe countries because of their innovative school and social systems.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people, share experiences and socialize. As a teacher, I wish I could discover new schools systems and live all around the world and maybe have an nice opportunity in any country thanks to couchsurfing!
Speaking about Liverpool, I also like to offer people the opportunity to discover the city as a local. Even if I didn’t lived here for a while, I learned and visited a lot about the city which is a whole new world for someone coming from Neuchatel, a really small city in a really small country.

Music, Movies, and Books
My musical tastes are like my food’s ones, there’s only a few that I really don’t like but I don’t really have favorites one, variety is the main word.
I like Films, especially based on true stories (Monument’s men, Spotlight, 13 Days, Green Zone, Remember the titans,..), even more with great soundtracks (Inception, Star Wars, Indiana Jones), also the cheesy ones (Titanic, Pearl Harbour, The Notebook, The Reader,...) and maybe because of professional purpose.... massive fan of the Disney’s.
I grew up with Harry Potter, but I have to admit that since, I didn’t really enjoyed a book as much as I enjoyed them! However if I would have to pick 3, my references would be The elegance of the Hedgehog, The shadow of the wind and Chagrin d’école.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent a whole winter as a ski teacher in the alps!
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to learn that much that I chose to work in a school my whole life! I like to improve my skills and experiment. I like to use efficient tools, even if they don’t already exist, DIY is my religion.
I’ve never been really good at learning languages but the more I use them, the more I like them and I the more I want to speak new ones.
I love to share skills and collaborate, I hardly believe that we are always better together.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Definitely a couch and a meal, if you’re lucky I might find time to show you a bit around!
I love different kind of sports, and I’m always up for a run, hike, run, swimming session or whatever.
