I am on a mission to defeat stupidity with beauty, and/or drink as many cups of tea as possible
I have lived in Berlin on and off now since 2001, and have broken up the time travelling around (mainly central) europe. I perform regularly on the punk kabarett circuit here, but started off training in new zealand to make physical theatre. Became a playwright home in NZ and did well at that, came over to Europe to the OE for a year, during which I was going to write a book, got thrown on a stage on my 3rd night in Europe and was made to read German texts without any idea what I was saying, The audience laughed, I was invited back, kept coming and made the best circle of mates I have ever found here...
I started putting all of my work in some kind of academic context last year for the first time, when I was invited to jump a BFA and start at masters level at massey university in new zealand. this was waaaaay to head-based for me, but i am still really interested in talking theory with anyone who is keen. i am particulary interested in queer theory and relational aesthetics, if that means anything to you...
am a very open and loving person, can get on with most types. like trouble in twenty flavours, can do a million accents, love to laugh.
just keep passing the open windows. you never know what will happen next...
All of my work as an artist is about bringing people into contact with each other, mainly because i love people and they way they respond to the chaos of existing. this sounds very doctor who, but it is true
